Cat Ball Chaser Toy
I’ve always looked at the these Cat Ball Chaser Toys, I just never wanted to spend the money on them because I didn’t know if Jax would play with it. I was at a garage sale and saw one there for really cheap. I figured I mine as well try it. The picture is not the one I got, but very similar.
Pros: It is a great interactive cat toy in that Jax can play with it and I don’t have to be there. Jax actually plays with it every once in a while. I can put his favorite toy in there- the shaky mice- and then he really gets excited.
Cons: He doesn’t play with it that much and I’m happy I didn’t spend a lot on it. If he ever grows really big, the slots might be too small for paws.
I give this toy a 4 out of 5 stars.

Petzlife Oral Care Spray
Petzlife Oral Care Spray Review
Duke has bad breath. I’ve been trying different things to make his breath smell bed. From the Cain & Able Toothbrush to the Top Performance ProDental Solution. While these previous two I haven’t been all that happy with, I have really liked the Petzlife Oral Care Spray.
While it hasn’t made this breath a ton better, his teeth do look a lot cleaner.
Pros: It has made my dog’s teeth whiter and cleaner. Less build up. I wish I had taken before and after pictures. Easy to use. Just spray a few times and you’re done.
Cons: Not a great breath freshener. Small bottle seems to not last very long for a large dog.
I haven’t not tried the Petzlife Oral Care Gel, I may have to try that one day.
I would rate this product 4.5 out of 5 stars. It is losing .5 stars due to it not being the best breath freshener.

Cain & Able Dog Toothbrush
Cain & Able Dog Toothbrush Review
I recently started trying to brush my dog’s teeth more often again. I have two types of toothbrushes, a cheap one I got when Duke was a puppy and a fancy Cain & Able Toothbrush. This review will be on the Cain and Able Dog Toothbrush.
It has a special shape compared to what you normally think of when you think of a toothbrush, it is shaped so that it can clean three sides of the teeth at once.
I really don’t like this style. I don’t know if it is because Duke has such a large mouth and it doesn’t fit right on his teeth, but either way it is way too difficult to brush his teeth. I would rather use the “regular” tooth brush.
Pros: Unique design that would be a lot easier to brush a small dog’s teeth
Cons: Hard to clean, the toothpaste seems to get stuck in the cavities, Hard to move around in my big dog’s mouth, doesn’t seem to be able to clean all sides of the teeth
I give this pet toothbrush a 2 out of 5 stars.
Looking back I reviewed this toothbrush almost a year ago—boy I don’t know if I used it much then, because I dislike it a lot more now.

Egg Babies Turtle Dog Toy
Turtle Egg Babies Review
Duke had the Hide a Squirrel Dog Toy a while ago and eventually destroy everything. I thought about getting him a new one, but decided to try something else. I choose the Egg Babies series that they are similar.
I got the Turtle as I thought it was very cut.
Pros: I got two free eggs, for a total of 5. It keeps him busy trying to get the eggs out. It fits into his mouth when the eggs are instead so it is also like a big squeaky toy. He loves balls, so the eggs also double as a ball.
Cons: One of the eggs’ stitching already came out. It took Duke a few times playing with it to understand he had to get the eggs out. While it hasn’ happened yet, I’m afraid that eventually he is going to try and ripe the legs off.
I love interactive dog toys such as the egg babies and rate this one a 4.5 out of 5.

Slumber Pet Plush Mats
I had recently gotten a new SUV and was looking for something to put in the back where Duke would be laying when riding in the car. I didn’t want a big bed, so I decided on a mat.
I got the Slumber Pet Plush Mat in Gray. Size x-large.
Pros: It is not bulky- just what I was looking for. The gray color will not look dirty. Very soft.
Cons: While I got the dimensions of the x-large (35×22), it is smaller than what I thought it would be.
I would rate this mat a 4 out of 5 stars. It is great if you are looking for a less bulky place for your dog to lay. This is not a good thing if you need a bed for your dog to sleep on all the time.

Cat Play Cubes
When I got Jax I was trying to think of different toys and accessories I could buy for that were easy to move and didn’t take up a lot of space. I didn’t want to buy an entire cat tree, as I knew I’d be moving and didn’t want to have to move it.
I decided to get a cat play cube. My parents have some for their cats and they seemed to like them. I ended up getting him one cue to see how he liked it. So far he has played with it alot. When I first got him and he was still a a little scared of the dog, he would hide in there too. He loves to play with his mouse in it and go flying into it when he is hyper.
Pros: easy to move, doesn’t take up a lot of space, good for losing his mouse in and have to get it back out
Cons: we have it for about 3 months now and it is starting to break down and get a little lopsided.
I would give this a 4 out of 5 stars.

Krill for Turtles
I’ve always had small animals that live in small cages. From hamsters, to fish, to my current turtle, I’ve always felt bad
in a way with sticking in animal in a cage in what is smaller than their natural habitat. This being said I’ve always tried to make their environment more entertaining and give them things to make their lives not so dull.
While researching things to feed my turtle, many sites suggest feeding the turtle stick. While this is part of my turtle’s diet, I feel this is really boring. So I found that turtles like Krill. I bought some krill at a local store and have been feeding it to my turtle for almost a year.
Pros: my turtle likes it, it spices up his diet
Cons: it smells! They are really bad smelling that I have debated throwing it out and trying to find something else. It will smell up the room for a few hours after you feed. I also only feed it to him when I am changing the water because other wise it makes it really gross.
I give this product a 3 out of 5, only because of the smell, otherwise it is a great turtle food!

Fur-Zoff Pet Hair Remover
I had a reader suggest I should do a review on the Fur-Zoff pet hair remover. Since I had never used it before, I couldn’t get an opinion on it. I asked if she would be willing to write something about it. Below is her review.
Fur-Zoff is a hand held fur removing stone used to remove unwanted pet hair from all fabrics, including clothes, cars, and furniture. Visually it looks different than any other pet hair removing product, but it works great! It’s made from recycled glass, making it an eco-friendly product, unlike most others on the market. Even better, is that it lasts nearly forever, saving you money on costly lint rollers.
How does it work? Hold it in your hand and sweep it across the surface of the fabric. The pet hair begins to pile up and it is easily disposed of. Just throw the hair ball away and remove any left on the Fur-Zoff. It’s that easy!
Another great attribute of the Fur-Zoff is it’s price - $9.99 – It will literally save you hundreds of dollars over the years on what would be spent on lint rollers. For more information, or to get one for yourself, check out their website: http://www.FurZoff.net.
Have you used the fur-zoff? What is your review on this product?

Hemp Break Away Cat Collars
When I got Jax I wanted to get a collar for him in case he ever got out. I first bought him a cheap one because I got Jax kind of quickly and that was all that was available. He beat it up really fast. It was all fraying and just looked beat up after a week or so. The final straw came when he was cleaning his fur around his neck and the strings from the beat up collar got stuck on his tongue and he couldn’t get it off. I knew then that I had to get him a new one.
I had bought cat toys from the company called Silly Kitty before and their collars looked pretty neat too. So I decided to buy him a Hemp Break Away Cat Collar. It comes in a variety of colors.
Pros: Has held up really well. No extra frays or strings hanging out. Looks just like it did the day I bought it. I also like that it was hemp, which is very eco-friendly.
Cons: There really is not one.
I would give this collar a 5 out of 5 stars.

Furminator Waterless Shampoo
As an addition to my post on the furminator for German shepherds I mentioned how I loved the furminator brush, but had to elaborate on the waterless shampoo by Furminator.
When I purchased the furminator I also purchased the Waterless Shampoo. I did not have a waterless shampoo at this time and thought it would be a good idea to get to get one.
Pros: It is convenient when I don’t have time to get to the groomers. It cuts down on the static when I am brushing him and helps make it brushing Duke easier. It makes him smell fresh right away.
Cons: It doesn’t seem to work long term. After the initial fresh smell, he doesn’t smell any different any five minutes. It is also supposed to help with the shedding. I didn’t see any improvement in this either.
Overall I give this product a 2 out of 5 stars.

Feline Pet Ease Soft Chews
Feline Pet Ease Soft Chews Review
Jax- the new kitty- is not very good at riding in the car. He meows the entire way and before I got a new carrier would cut up his nose trying to get out. Since I plan on traveling with him alot, I needed to find something that would help de-stress him. I had heard about the Nutri-vet Feline Pet Ease soft chews and thought I would give them a try.
I can’t give much of a review because he would not eat them. I tried mixing them with canned food, nope, I tried breaking them into little pieces, nope.
So, I have these a 0 out of 5.
If anyone has any ideas on how to get him to eat them, that would be very helpful, please leave a comment.
If you would like to try them, you can buy the feline pet ease soft chews.

Furminator for German Shepherds
I never quite realized how much German shepherds shed until I got one. To make matters even worse, I got a long haired German shepherd, so he sheds even more. I’ve tried many different types of brushes but they don’t always seem to work or at least they don’t get as much hair out as I wished they would.
I finally decided to try the furminator after hearing some positive things from people. I was told to get the furminator over any other brands that are cheaper. I was happy I did.
Pros: It gets a lot of hair out! Just like the pictures, even after a few minutes of brushing I have a pile of hair. I can easily tell where I have and haven’t brushed. It is quite amazing. The handle and blade are easy to use for a long period of time. Available in different sizes to fit your dog.
Cons: If you press too hard, you can hurt your dog. It gets the undercoat, which is great, but doesn’t get the long top hairs, which I also find all over my house.
**I also have tried the furminator waterless shampoo. It is supposed to reduce shedding and make them smell better. I don’t think it does either, but that is for another post, maybe tomorrow.I rate this product 5 out of 5 stars. I highly recommend it for anyone looking to reduce their dog’s shedding

Cheese Wedge Mice Cat Toys
When I got my new kitten Jax I went a little overboard on buying cat toys. I pretty much bought one of everything, which I soon realized was a waste of my money. He only likes these rattle mice toys. They are the only toys he will play with and will actually come running when he hears them shake.
Pros: cheap and easy to find in most stores, so he can lose a lot and I don’t care, he loves them!
Cons: cheaply made, easy to destroy, depending on what color you get (they have white and grey), you may scare some people thinking they are real mice
I give these mice a 5 out of 5 toys!

Monogrammed Cat Bed- Shelby Pet Bed
I got a new cat a while ago and was looking for a cat bed for them to sleep on so that they would stay off the furniture. I ended up getting a monogrammed dog bed which was called the Shelby Dog Bed.
I got my cat’s monogrammed on it and I also got the smallest size available.
Pros: It is very soft and I love that I can get it monogrammed to make it more personalized. There are also so many different color choices that you can get one to match your home or bedroom decor. The cover is also removable and machine washable!
Cons: It says it is overstuffed in the description, and boy was it! I almost think it is too overstuffed. I am debating whether or not I want to take some stuffing out.
Overall, I would give this bed a 4 out of 5, only because it may be too overstuffed.
Buy this monogrammed cat bed.

Pentapulls Dog Toy from Doggles
I love buying new dog toys for my dog. He is very spoiled when it comes to the amount of toys. His favorite toy by from is a plain tennis ball, but he can get very annoying when them so I am always looking for new toys.
I recently got him the cat pentapulls from doggles. This is a very neat toy as it has a cat in the middle with five long legs (4 legs, one tail). This allows you to pull and play tug a war with your dog or allows your dog to shake and try to “kill” the toy.
While Duke is not a heavy chewer this toy has held up well to his tugging and mild chewing.
I have not found anything negative about this toy yet.
More interactive dog toys.

Pom Pom Rope Toy
I recently purchased the Pom Pom Rope Dog Toy for my dog. I knew that he would love it because it was huge and he could rip it apart. It was great, besides having to clean up after him!
The pros are that the large is huge. I think it really was the size of my head. It was great for Duke as he was able to rip it apart and play with it. I also like that it is a rope and a bundle of yarn, it is like getting two toys in one.
The cons are that it can get very messy when your dog rips it apart. I spent most of my time cleaning up after him when he was playing with it. Also this toy is not good for playing tug of war. The end of this toy was when we were playing tug of war and it ripped apart.
To buy the Pom Pom Rope Toy visit Poochieheaven.com It is available in size small and large.

Top Performance ProDental Solution
I decided to try this after hearing about it from a few people. I don’t brush my dog’s teeth as much as I should so I needed to try something else to keep his teeth clean and breath smelling fresh.
This products works when you add it to your pets water. It is then supposed to freshen breath and whiten teeth.
Unfortunately, this hasn’t worked for me. I have been using it for over a month and have not noticed my dog’s breath being fresher. His teeth may be a little whiter, but it could also be me wanting to think they are whiter.
The cons are that it is really easy to use. You just pour some in the water. At least I feel like I am doing something.
What do you use to clean your dog’s teeth?

Country Gardens Solar Birdbath
I love bird feeders and bird baths. I’m always looking for a bird bath that I can use that I don’t have to hook up to electricity. I recently purchased the Country Gardens Solar Birdbath to use as a birdbath in one of my flower gardens.
Here is the description from the website that I bought it from:
This Country Gardens Fountain Birdbath is made from lightweight resin with a cast stone weathered finish. Using sta te of the art solar panel and solar pump technology, power is supplied to the fountain from natural outdoor sun and light. The solar panel is built In, residing in the water basin itself. The 6 volt solar pump in the bottom of the basin, beneath the built-in solar panel, continuously circulates the water up through the center spout, creating water movement and gentle babbling water sounds. The birds love it, and so will you. This fountain includes everything you need, is self contained and needs no installation. It will give you many years of soothing joy.
So far it has worked great. The birds love it and thus my cats enjoy watching them:)
The only bad thing is that it not self cleaning, so I think I will have to find something to keep it cleaner.
Purchase the Country Gardens Solar Birdbath.

Canidae Dog Food
When I first got my dog a few years ago, I understood that you needed to feed your dog a good high quality dog food. Thus, when visiting my local pet food store, the employee told me that Canidae was a good choice. I bought some and was excited to buy my dog this food.
Little did I know, Duke, does not like to eat. He never liked this food and probably to this day still doesn’t. While this is not surprising as he does not like much when it comes to dog food, it was buy far the food he has liked the least.
I also know that they have since changed their formula and many dogs have not liked the new formula.
I would suggest that if you are going to be using this food, buy it from a place that will accept returns if your dog will not eat it.
The good thing is that they have all life stage formula food so it is good for any age dog. They also have a few different varieties if you dog does not like the first one.

Fat Cat Shirt
There are many sites out there that offer hundreds and hundreds of options for dog clothing. There are not nearly as many that offer cat clothing.
I recently got a Fat Cat Shirt for my fat and spoiled cat.
It has a great fit and states the obvious- my cat is fat .
The only bag thing is that I will have to wash it often as it is white.
Buy the fat cat shirt or a lot more cat clothes.

Buckle Loop Dog Leash
About a year ago I was at a local pet store walking around trying to spend some money on my dog. I found the buckle loop dog leash. They are just like a normal dog leash, but the handle has a buckle that can be adjusted. This is great for putting around your waist to keep your hands free when walking or for hooking your dog to a pole when you run into a gas store.
I have used it for both situations described above and it has worked great.
I give it a 5 out of 5 stars.
What kind of leash do you use?

Kaytee Forti-Diet Mouse & Rat Food
When I had pet mice I fed them Kaytee Forti-Diet Mouse food as part of their diet. It was a high quality easy to feed food. It can be fed alone and meet all their nutritiously requirements. It is also good for wearing down their teeth as the blocks are quite solid.
The only negative for this food is that I feel like it does not give them enough variety. I would suggest that if you feed this food to give them some treats at least three times a week.
I give this product 4 out of 5 stars.

Taste of the Wild Dog Food
I recently started feeding my dog the Taste of the Wild dog food. I have tried him and many different kinds of food, but he is a very picky eater and wouldn’t eat it. When he did eat it, he acted like he was all itchy. I soon figured out that he was allergic to corn. Since then I have been feeding him Taste of the Wild Dog Food, which is grain free. It comes in three different flavors and I have been buying a different flavor when the bag has ran out.
So far it has been great! He will actually eat it! I am very surprised. The only negative is that it has made him more gassy. But I will deal with that if it means that he is actually eating. It is also more expensive than a lot of food, but is definitely worth it.
I give this dog food a 4.5 out of 5 stars.

I feed my current betta Wardley’s Betta Food. I have also fed my past bettas this food. It is small circle pellets that seems to really enjoy. All my bettas have had no problem eating it and have been vibrant colors and active.
I would give this product 5 out of 5 stars.

Care Free Enzymes Fountain Protector
Many people enjoy having backyard fountains and water features, yet can’t keep them clean and good looking because of the algae and other issues that turn the water gross and not a relaxing site. I have a few fountains in my house and backyard and I purchased the care free enzymes fountain protector to help keep it clean.
It contains natural enzymes with is 100% environmentally friendly. It is also safe for wildlife, aquatic life and pets. I now don’t have to worry about the birds taking a bath or my dog drinking out of it when he is thirsty.
I rate this product a 5 out of 5 stars.

Le Bistro Waterer
I have the basic stainless steel food and water dish, but was looking for something different that would hold more water for those days that I was gone all day or it got super crazy and I forgot to fill it up.
I decided to purchase the Le Bistro Waterer. It has been a great purchase so far. I can fill up the entire jug (2.75 gallons) and it will last him for a long time. They come in multiple sizes so that you can buy one that fits your dog’s size. There is also one for dog food that works the same was as the waterer.
The only negative for this dog waterer is the fact that the bowl can get gross when it is not cleaned on a regular basis.
I would give this product a 5 out of 5 stars.
What kind of waterer or water bowl do you use for your dog?

The Goodlife Recipe Cat Treats
My mom had a coupon for the Goodlife Recipe cat treats so she decided to try it. My mom has four cats and they all know what the word “treat” means. If you want to get their attention and want them to come, all you have to say is treat. They have a crunchy outside and a creamy inside.
Out of the four cats, only one liked them. I think this is because the other three really prefer soft treats.
While these cat treats are not the best ones you could buy, they are better than many out there.
I would give them 3 out of 5 stars.
What are you cat’s favorite treats?

Pooch Planet Dog Bed
I, or rather Duke, received the Pooch Planet Dog Bed last year for Christmas for my parents.
I was quite disappointed in the way this bed has held up. Duke didn’t lay on it very much when we first got it, but when we moved into a new house, he decided that he then wanted to lay on it. So in a span of a few months it went from a decent, fluffy dog bed to being basically two pieces of fabric.
Duke is a large dog, thus weighs a lot, but as a big bed you should expect it to hold up to the weight of large dogs.
The positive is that the cover is machine washable.
I give this product a 1 out of 5 stars.
What is your experience with the Pooch Planet Dog Bed or any large dog beds?

Black & White Dog Cookies
My dog is a very picky eater. While he normally likes most dog treats I recently bought him these black and white dog cookies.
He loves them! They also smell delicious! They come in packs of 12 cookies.
These treats are preservative free- thus needing to be used right away, refrigerated, or put in the freezer. Being preservative free means that they are a lot healthier for your dog!
I give these cookies a 5 out of 5 stars.
Purchase the black and white dog cookies.

Copper Bird Feeder
I enjoy watching the birds in my backyard eat from bird feeders and was looking for a new, yet stylish looking bird feeder. I came across this copper bird feeder that fit just what I was looking for. It has a stylish and sleek design, yet is functional and the birds will eat from it. I bought the small, which is about 18″ high.
So far it has worked perfectly. I also got many comments on it this pasat summer, as it doesn’t look like a typical bird feeder.
The one negative is that I wish I would have bought the larger size so that I didn’t have to fill it as often.
I give this product 5 out of 5 stars.
Purchase the copper bird feeder.

Reptile Premium Sticks
I feed my pet turtle Wardley reptile premium sticks among other things. I have feed all turtles I have ever owned these and they have all thrived.
They are a simple pellet stick made of fish meal, ground corn, soybean meal and much more. They are easy to feed and my turtle seems to enjoy them. Not only are they great for turtles, they also are good for amphibians.
The only negative I can think of is that it is not very much work for the turtle to eat. I try and give my turtle little fish twice a month or so, to help stimulate the brain.
I would give this product a 5 out of 5 stars.

Dog Toothbrush
I recently decided that my dog needed a new dog toothbrush. The one I had was just your typical looking toothbrush.
I wanted to try something different as Duke was not the most cooperative while brushing his teeth. I thought that I would try the toothbrush by Cain and Able. It is a very unique looking dog toothbrush as it has three brushes and thus brushes all three sides of the teeth.
I think that it does a really good job of keeping his teeth clean and it now takes less time to clean it as it cleans three sides at once.
The one negative is that it may be a little too small for Duke’s largest teeth. I have spend a little extra time on those to make sure I get it all.
I would rate this product a 4 out of 5 stars.
Purchase the dog toothbrush here.

Kyjen Hide a Squirrel
I recently bought the Kyjen Hide a Squirrel Jumbo for my dog. He really likes to tear apart toys and thought that this would be the perfect toy since it is “built” to be taken apart by your dog. It comes with a tree trunk “house” and three squirrels, which feature squeakers. Another reason why I was interested in this dog toy is that it is considered an interactive dog toy. This means that your dog needs to think to use it. This relieves boredom and tires your dog out mentally.
We have had it for three days now and he loves it! He really enjoys getting the squirrels out of the tree and then munching on them so that he can hear them squeak.
The only negative to this is that he will try and bite the ears and hair off. I am trying to only let him have it when I am around to watch him so that he can’t rip the squirrels apart. So far we have been successful! There are replacement squirrels available, so, if it comes down to it, I will buy more.
Not interested in a squirrel? It is also available in Hide a Bee and Hide a Bird.
I would rate this product 4 out of 5 stars.
What is your experience with the Hide a Squirrel?
